Strengthening Borealis’ business through strategic communication
Borealis is one of the world’s leading providers of advanced and sustainable polyolefin solutions. In Europe, Borealis is also an innovative leader in polyolefins recycling and a major producer of base chemicals.
In 2020, Borealis Group launched a new strategy and purpose. Borealis Polymers wanted to align its communication with the new strategy and established communication KPIs to support the implementation of its business strategy. They chose Brunnen as their partner.
In spring 2020, a new communication strategy was developed in collaboration with the organization’s communications team and management. Their views and objectives were incorporated into the strategy, providing a solid foundation for future communications. Management and the organization as a whole gained a better understanding of how communication could better support the business.

The communication guidelines were directly derived from the new business strategy, aligning the company’s communication with the strategy’s implementation. “Brunnen’s efforts made our communication more visible and measurable”, states Poikonen.
